The streets on the map are batiked. Within the block of houses I rubbed the pattern of gaze. In the gaze pattern I embroidered crosses every now and than. These represent the people living in the city of Lucca. The result is that the streets are a bit like a surface in relief. The outsides of the map are quilted in the other strips of fabric. Only after our next TeXplosions meeting I will show the whole quilt. The other ladies sure are the first to see it!

meenemen hoor wil het zien
Jeetje, wat ben je ver! Bij mij schiet het nu ook op, maar zo ver als jij ben ik nog niet. Elke stap is weer: overwegen, nadenken, kiezen en doen. Er gaat bij mij veel tijd zitten in het denkwerk er om heen. Wel ben ik blij met de kant die het opgaat. Jij zult ook wel blij zijn met deze quilt. Helemaal door alle herinneringen die er aan vast zitten.
