Long time ago …

Verder heeft mijn bezoek aan New York me geïnspireerd.

And suddenly it has been month since you last wrote something on your weblog. Amazing. To be honest, there wasn’t much to write about. A lot of ideas are becoming designs now, but nothing to show yet. I just enjoyed (and still am) summer. But, now autumn is within reach and there are 3 quilts in progress and at least 6 in preparation it seems time to type a blog.

First exposition news. Mostly meant for the people in the Netherlands but I will mention it anyway.
On September 22th there is an arts and crafts market in the beautiful little village Buren. Near the market is the gallery Kunsthof De Heuf. I shall have an exposition there the 22th and 29th of September. I will also have an exposition during the Handwerk- and Quilt dagen in Arnhem, 15th and 16th of November. Nice.

On the field of quilting Willy, Emmy and I are busy with the theme Lace. Lace is not my cup of tea so I shifted it aside for a while. Willy gave us this theme. While she mentioned it I was already busy shifting the theme to another theme. The Dutch word for lace is Kant. And the Dutch word Kant also means Side so I was trying to make something out of that. But Willy was firm; I may not use the word that way. Now I have 3 works in progress, none of them finished or completely designed. Here is a little piece of one of them.

My trip to New York inspired me too. I have a whole pile of fabric ready to work with. I made the most beautiful breakdown prints I ever made as well as a series of printed photos on fabric. Havn’t made pictures of the breakdown fabric yet so results next time. I don’t know yet how and what it will be but it’s enough to produce at least 5-7 quilts. A whole series of quilts.
