Cursus / Course again

Yesterday a inspiring class with Cherilyn Martin. We’ve been working hard en talked even harder, so, a successful day. Very nice to be locked up in a course room with a bunch of like-minded souls. There was almost a hitch, while on my way I had car trouble. Fortunately a car mechanic repaired it.
Everyone did their homework with a lot of fun and result. I was so enthusiastic I even made two.
First I started a snow and ice landscape. Difficult all those kinds of white. I used lace, puff paint, organza, cellophane (beneath the organza as the glimmering of the ice), tulle, dried mulberry bark, and a lot of little pieces of fabric and fibres. Here and there a lick of paint.

Than it was springs’ turn. De poppies aren’t flowering yet here but I like them very much. A photo from last year. The foundation is made of scrim with embellished merino. The poppies are made of tyvek with silk paper glued on and painted with acryl. A lot of threads and fibres embellished over it. With the sewing machine and by hand I added some loose stitches in the background.

It's fantastic! My husband is an architect, and he is good in painting. He is impressed and didn;t believe it's a quilt!

Echt prachtig!

Sandra these two pieces are mind blowingly good. Just beautiful to behold. I wish I even knew what half of the materials are that you use...I must look up all those names and learn how to use them.
I am so sad that you and Corryna have left the other group...as I hold you both in such high esteme as artists to learn from...I will keep coming here to stay on top of your sharings.

Sandra your pieces are lovely. It is nice to work with a group of like minded people and to feel that you don't have to thnk about anything but what you are creating whilst you are all together. (Except talking of course!!!)
