Back again

Kreeg bijna last van afkickverschijnselen.
Thema is Colours of a country. De quilt heet Tulips from Amsterdam, mijn geboortestad.

So, it has been a while ago since I posted something, holiday period. In the mean time I am back from a 3 weeks holiday in Italy and Slovenia. Only one day of rain and a load of hail while on our way. The load of hail was not very pleasant for the roof of the car and the caravan. We now have a pattern of pits up there. For three weeks I didn’t touch any fabric or fibre. I almost got trouble with detox symptoms. Home again the postman delivered some fabric from Emmy and Willy. Our new theme is Freedom. We all divided two pieces of fabric in three pieces. Of both pieces we sent one to each of the others. Goal is to add some to it and return it. Than you have to make a quilt with your own parts of the fabric and the pieces which are treated by the others. So the coming days I will add some paint or who knows what to the fabrics of Emmy and Willy.
I also got the message that the quilt I sent in for the contest of Ste Marie aux Mines didn’t make it to the final. The advantage is that I can put it on my blog now. The quilt should contain the colours of the flag of a specific country. I choose my own country Holland and the tulips it’s associated with. The quilt is named Tulips from Amsterdam, my city of birth.

This is a gorgeous piece, I am really surprised that it didn't make it into the contest.

I think your quilt with the tulips is very very lovely Sandra. Sorry it did not make the finals. But nice it got as far as it did in the show/judging. You can be proud of it.

Welcome home. I hope the travels and holiday were good in all ways in spite of the hail.
